Smith & Wesson has taken their Shield pistol and created a model chambered for the new 30 Super Carry caliber!

30 SUPER CARRY

Federal ammunition has introduced a new pistol caliber designed to bridge the gap between .380 and 9mm!  The 30 Super Carry is the most revolutionary self-defense advancement in nearly 100 years.  The compact design represents a new class of ammunition engineered from scratch for absolute performance by every measure.  By using a .312-inch diameter projectile the 30 Super Carry allows more magazine capacity than 9mm but delivers equal or better muzzle energy and performance in penetration, expansion, energy, and velocity.

THE FRAME

The shield frame is extremely thin and lightweight and can be comfortably carried all day.  It’s equipped with a flat face trigger for consistent trigger finger placement that allows for more accurate, repeatable shooting, and a tactile and audible trigger reset.  The optimal 18-degree grip angle for natural point of aim, and enhanced grip texture allow the user to manage recoil, keep a firm grip, and feel ease when concealing.  It’s equipped with M&P’s patented take-down lever and sear deactivation system for disassembly without pulling the trigger.  And finally, the extended magazine offers 16+1 round capacity and for a more concealable option, a flush-fit 13 round magazine is also available.

THE SLIDE & BARREL

The 3.1-inch barrel with a 1:10” twist is made from stainless steel with Armornite® finish.

The slide material is also stainless steel with Armornite® finish.  Armornite® finish is a hardened nitride finish that provides enhanced corrosion resistance, greatly improved wear resistance, decreased surface roughness, reduced light reflection, and increased surface lubricity.  The optics ready slide accepts Crimson Trace®, Trijicon® Leupold® Delta Point Pro, J-Point, C-MORE, Insight®, Nikon, and Holosun sights.  Standard sights are orange ring, tritium, night sight on the front, and a black, tritium night sight on the rear.
