The way Trump is being treated is going to make conservatives upset.

He is on the receiving end of a very nasty attack.

And the Second Amendment is the reason he is being targeted.

Donald Trump hasn’t given gun owners everything they hoped for during his second term in office, but he has clearly done enough that the anti-gun left is upset about it.

They are targeting him over the Second Amendment issue and making some very negative statements about him in an attempt to hurt him politically.

The Center for American Progress is a left-wing activism group that focuses on a variety of issues, one of which is anti-gun lobbying among others.

They are obviously not big fans of Trump, and they would love to score points on his administration by landing some blows over the gun issue.

In fact, they may even be hoping that by doing so, they can persuade Trump not to pursue pro-Second Amendment policies for the rest of his term in office.

Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but what is obvious is that they’ve decided now is the time to attack him over guns.

Here is what the CAP said: “President Donald Trump has consistently failed to take action to improve public safety, particularly when it comes to addressing gun violence. Instead, the Trump administration has rolled back safety measures, prioritizing the interests of the gun industry over the protection of families and communities. These actions were frequently framed as efforts to safeguard Second Amendment rights or eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs. In reality, they leave American citizens more vulnerable while empowering and enriching the very industry responsible for the proliferation of illegal firearms that are taking lives every day.”

These are some harsh accusations that will certainly get their base of supporters ginned up against Trump.

They may be perceiving that Trump is willing to compromise on guns, and that by attacking him they can force him to do what they want.

The press release continues, “Less than a month into his second term, President Trump signed an executive order directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to review all firearm-related policies, rulemaking, and actions taken by the previous administration. The order instructs Bondi to ‘present a proposed plan of action to the President, through the Domestic Policy Advisor, to protect the Second Amendment rights of all Americans.’ Several of the policies mentioned in the executive order mirror the priorities of the gun industry lobbying groups, including relaxing enforcement oversight of gun dealers who willfully break the law and reversing efforts to prevent American firearms from reaching foreign adversaries.”

Of course, even if they perceive that Trump is willing to compromise on guns, that doesn’t mean their perception is accurate.

Only Trump knows the answer to that, and he could easily prove them wrong and show gun owners that he’s on their side.

Either way, Trump is under fire over the Second Amendment issue by powerful members of the anti-gun lobby.
