Miami Based SAR USA is the importer for Sarsilmaz Arms, based in Turkey. Sar USA is now importing their SAR9 Compact X! The Compact model is approximately the size of a Glock 19, so it’s small enough to conceal but big enough for a day at the range. Let’s take a look.

THE FRAME

The frame is a compact size polymer for light weight and concealability. The 20-degree grip angle provides built in accuracy, and the trigger undercut along with the interchangeable grip panels and backstraps let you get a good, comfortable grip. Safety features include a firing pin block and trigger safety.

THE SLIDE & BARREL

The slide is forged steel with lightening cuts that also serve as forward serrations to help to work the pistol and the slide is finished in a platinum Cerakote. The Compact X comes with factory sights fitted. The 4-inch hammer-forged barrel is target crowned. The slide comes with white 3 dot sights, and the rear is factory cut for micro red dot use.

THE VERDICT

Although the Compact X comes with a lot of features that you would find in a higher priced gun, the price point is a little higher than I would like to see. The X package comes with a holster, two 15 round magazines, a magazine pouch, and a weapon light. Take a look and see if it’s right for you.
