This major celebrity decided there was no use sticking around.
She hated guns so much that she simply could not live here anymore.
And she decided to flee to another country to escape gun owners.
Sophie Turner is an actress known for her role in “Game of Thrones,” as well as other famous films like “X-Men.”
She was originally from England but later moved to the U.S. during her acting career to be with her now ex-husband.
Like many people from England, she hates guns. England is one of the most anti-gun places on the planet, and many of them think Americans are unsophisticated rednecks for wanting to defend themselves and their families.
However, most English people who move to the U.S. begrudgingly accept the fact that people here own guns and it is just a fact of life.
Sophie Turner could not accept this. And after her separation from Joe Jonas, of Jonas Brothers fame, she fled back to her home country to get away from the scary guns.
And now she is making her opinions very clear about America and guns.
According to a BuzzFeed article about her divorce, “One of the biggest sources of contention seemed to be which country their two young daughters, 3-year-old Willa and 22-month-old Delphine, would live in. In September, Sophie famously sued Joe for the ‘immediate return’ of their children.”
“First of all, Sophie confessed to finding the States pretty isolating. Aside from Joe and his family, all of her inner circle are based in England, and she struggled even more once they moved to Florida.”
That’s a fairly reasonable sentiment. It makes sense that someone would want to be around their closest family.
But that’s not all she had to say. She went on to rip Americans for the fact that they like freedom more than tyranny.
“But, even more importantly, Sophie became increasingly concerned about raising her daughters in America’s political landscape, with gun control and women’s rights being the two biggest issues.”
Here is what she said about the dangerous Americans who like protecting their families too much: “I couldn’t fathom being a mother of one of those children knowing that this was something your country could fix, that they’d rather have rights to guns than give kids a right to life.”
There are tens of millions of children growing up in the U.S. While tragedies of course happen on very rare occasions, most children’s lives are not in any serious danger of gun violence.
If Sophie Turner’s children were growing up on the streets of Baltimore in the midst of gang activity, perhaps she’d have more cause for concern for their safety.
But she is a wealthy actress who can afford to put her children in the most expensive and luxurious private schools. They would be completely fine living in the United States.
Apparently, however, she has bought into the media lie that “no one is safe” thanks to Americans owning guns. And she has decided to flee the country as a result.
