Far-left politicians will do anything to tear down the Second Amendment.
This even includes teaming up with a foreign government to attack American citizens.
And that is exactly what one anti-gun Democrat just did.
The lawsuit that the Mexican government has been pursuing against the American gun industry has been big news in the Second Amendment community over the past year.
If it were successful, the lawsuit would effectively destroy the Second Amendment, as it would threaten to bankrupt the gun industry, and make purchasing firearms much more difficult.
This might be music to the ears of a lot of progressive Americans who dislike guns, but it would be a disaster for people who want to exercise their freedoms under the Second Amendment.
Now an American politician is teaming up with the Mexican government in this case against his own fellow citizens.
The Democrat attorney general of California, Rob Bonta, is siding with Mexico in this case which threatens to bring down an entire industry.
If this case seemed dangerous to begin with, it just got even worse now that powerful U.S. politicians are joining forces with Mexico.
According to Buckeye Firearms, “The willingness of some in the U.S. to aid a foreign power in an assault on American industry and Americans’ Constitutional rights is sad and disturbing.
“On Jan. 17, California Attorney General Rob Bonta proclaimed his support for Mexico’s position in the ongoing case Smith & Wesson Brands Inc, et al. v. Estados Unidos Mexicanos. The case, now at the U.S. Supreme Court, is an attempt by the Mexican government, working with U.S.-based gun control advocates, to undo the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), make the U.S. firearms industry a scapegoat for Mexican lawlessness, and impose billions of dollars in liability on American gun manufacturers for violence perpetrated by violent criminals south of the border.”
It is highly unusual, to say the least, for a high-ranking U.S. official to side with a foreign government against his fellow citizens.
But that is exactly what Rob Bonta is doing here.
The article continues, “These suits, though without legal merit, posed a grave threat to the industry — and in turn, American gun owners and their ability to exercise their Second Amendment rights. In 1998, the executive director of the anti-gun U.S. Conference of Mayors was quoted by the New York Times as stating, ‘[t]he lawyers are seeing green on this issue… they think they can bring the gun industry to its knees.’ One of those attorneys ‘seeing green,’ John Coale, was quoted in a 2000 Washington Post article remarking, ‘[t]he legal fees alone are enough to bankrupt the industry.’”
If the industry is bankrupted, buying guns will be nearly impossible, as the companies won’t be able to produce them anymore.
This would effectively eliminate the Second Amendment without Congress even having to vote on it.
Gun owners are certainly hoping that this lawsuit gets shot down by the courts before it causes any more damage than it already has.
