Gunpowder Readers love shooting sports, and we exercise our Second Amendment rights daily.

But with the shooting sports comes added responsibility. You must be prepared to act when bad things happen! Whether it’s a negligent discharge at the range, an armed robbery, or an active shooter situation, you must be ready to provide aid.

To that extent, I’ve attended training in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), and I’m a Florida Department of Law Enforcement Certified First Aid Instructor. If you carry a gun for any reason, a recent post I saw on social media that reads, “Thou must train to treat bullet holes as well as give them” is spot on!

Crime is out of control in Democrat-run cities. Antifa and BLM are burning, looting, and murdering, and police are standing by watching it happen. The situation is going to get much worse, and you must be ready and able to render aid to yourself and family!

Gunpowder readers are familiar with my book review of Joe Dolio’s Tactical Wisdom Training Manuals. One thing stressed in Joe’s books is the need to be able to administer first aid/trauma care. Depending on the situation, someone may or may not be coming to the rescue!

Dolio’s Tactical Wisdom Blog, www.tactical-wisdom.com mentions a company called Kilo 5 Supply Co. that supplies Trauma/Individual First Aid Kits (IFAK) kits. After reading their material, I ordered an Aries Kit, as well as a Libra kit for EveryDay Carry (EDC) to go along with other first aid equipment I’ve acquired. The kit was shipped out immediately, and it’s definitely high quality. Kilo 5 is headquartered in Prineville, Oregon, and the company is run by highly trained EMTs and paramedics. These people know their business!

The mission at Kilo5 is simple:

“To provide tactical oriented medical supplies at a price that’s affordable, using experience-based enhanced knowledge to help you bring about a positive outcome.”

“Let’s make it simpler: No Gimmicks! No B.S! No Excuses!”

Starting with the Libra Kit and working up to the Aries kit, Kilo5 has created trauma kits for different situations. They’ve recently added the Pisces module, and you can also purchase individual pieces to replenish a kit that has been used.

It’s immediate trauma care in a vacuum-sealed container so that it’s compact, unobtrusive, and inconspicuous. It’s perfect for politicians or business-types who wear a suit jacket. It’s great if you’re LE and want something for your off-duty cargo pocket.

I’ve seen tourniquets on the web selling @$12.99 for 3! I don’t want to risk my life or that of a loved one to save a few bucks on Chinese junk! When the defecation hits the oscillation, have quality kit with you! Check out their website at www.kilo5.com. As we’ve witnessed, the Biden administration is not concerned with your safety. Please get your kit in order folks, time is short!

That’s all for now folks! Please keep sending in your questions, tips, and article ideas. And as always – “Let’s be careful out there.”
