The most liberal news outlet on cable TV is at it again.
They are trying to make yet another Republican leader look bad.
And they crossed a serious red line with their smear of J.D. Vance over guns.
In the mid-2000s, MSNBC decided to become the liberal answer to Fox News, and they made it their business model to tell progressives whatever they want to hear.
Instead of delivering the news in a straightforward way, they simply tell their left-wing audience that they are right about everything, and smear people who disagree.
This is exactly what they are doing now with J.D. Vance, the U.S. senator from Ohio and Republican nominee for vice president.
Disagreeing with Vance is a perfectly fine thing to do, and well within the bounds of American political discourse, but smearing him or telling falsehoods about him is wrong.
And that is exactly what MSNBC did on live TV after the shooting in Georgia.
Now conservatives are reacting to what MSNBC did to J.D. Vance, and they are not happy about seeing their vice-presidential nominee treated unfairly like this.
According to NewsBusters, “In the aftermath of the school shooting near Winder, Georgia, the first week of September, CNN and MSNBC not only promoted more gun control without considering the evidence that arming teachers would make schools safer, but they also helped Democrats smear the GOP presidential ticket by taking out of context running mate J.D. Vance’s comments about the attack.”
The attacks on Vance crossed a line because they weren’t political attacks, they became extremely personal.
They were also false, as they portrayed him as having a callous attitude that he simply does not have about school shootings.
Here is a description of what they said: “A bit later, [Joy] Reid demonized Senator Vance as not caring about children: ‘Yeah, and imagine being somebody like J.D. Vance who demands that women give birth to as many kids as possible — he always calls them kids — but then says, ‘You know, if those kids get shot dead at school, sucks for them.’’
“CNN’s Jim Acosta had on gun control activists Fred Guttenberg and David Hogg on separate days, and allowed Guttenberg to distort Vance’s comments to accuse him of thinking that school shootings are ‘a fact of life that we must accept.’ The liberal activist also promoted Kamala Harris for President.”
The left is up in arms because Vance has promoted the idea that having children is a good thing, and also has not come out for the type of radical gun control that they want.
They are using that to try to claim that Vance wants more children to be born and then doesn’t care if they get shot at school.
Of course, that is nonsense. Vance believes, as any common-sense gun rights supporter does, that gun control is simply not an effective way to stop this violence.
He believes there are better ways to do it. But you wouldn’t know that from watching MSNBC portray him as a monster.
