The ATF is trying to destroy the Second Amendment like never before.
And they just got an assist from one powerful politician.
Now they are coming after gun owners all across America.
Under the Biden administration, the ATF has been emboldened to double down on their organizational mission to make America a gun-free nation.
They know that they have the tacit approval of the administration to use more aggressive tactics in their efforts to make life more difficult for gun owners and also for the gun industry.
Now they are getting help from a powerful politician at the state level as well, which will give them a boost in their efforts.
Keith Ellison from Minnesota is one of the most radically progressive attorneys general in America, and he is a staunch ally of the gun control lobby.
Now he is coming out swinging for the ATF in their efforts to attack private gun sellers through new regulation.
The ATF and Keith Ellison are coming after gun owners together, and if supporters of the Second Amendment don’t unite to stop them, the results could be very ugly.
According to CBS News, “Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison says he’s joined a coalition of 22 U.S. attorneys general in supporting a federal rule aimed at stopping illegal gun trafficking.
“The rule, made by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), requires private gun sellers to obtain a license and perform background checks on potential buyers.”
Of course, CBS frames it as positively as they possibly can, but the rule will do far more to harm private gun sellers than it will to stop gun trafficking.
That is the ATF’s real mission, to make it as difficult as possible to engage in the gun industry, which will disincentivize people from even going into that business at all.
The article continues, “In a statement, Ellison said the rule is intended to make it more difficult for dangerous individuals to illegally get a gun.
“In June, a federal judge in Texas granted a preliminary injunction against enforcing the rule. The brief is asking the court to reverse the court order.”
“As a result of the investigation, DFL Sen. Ron Latz intends to introduce legislation to require all law enforcement agencies in the state to trace crime guns.”
Clearly Democrats have been emboldened by this new rule and they are now pushing to track far more guns than they ever have in the past.
That is what Ellison and others are pushing for. They know that they likely can’t repeal the Second Amendment right now, but they can harass gun sellers and monitor gun owners.
This will make gun ownership a thoroughly unpleasant experience that most people simply won’t want to endure.
By doing that, they will drive down gun ownership and move towards their ultimate goal of making America a gun-free nation.
It appears that Keith Ellison and the ATF are on the same page, and that is bad news for the millions of Americans who own guns.
