Even some gun organizations are following the “woke” trend.

This is going to be very disturbing for many of their members.

And this bombshell story is going to raise serious red flags for a lot of people.

A shooting organization is probably one of the last groups that people would expect to adopt “woke” gender ideology.

But unfortunately, that is exactly what seems to be happening at one major organization which has decided to go down a very strange rabbit hole that surely doesn’t align with its members’ values.

The United States Practical Shooting Association, or the USPSA, is trying to achieve “gender equity” and transgender representation according to some recent documents.

It boggles the mind that they would think their members are interested in something like this, but unfortunately organizations do sometimes get hijacked by people with their own agendas.

Now there is controversy spreading as gun sites report on the news, which will be shocking and concerning to many of their readers.

Perhaps the USPSA will reverse this decision under pressure, but it does seem that to a large extent, the damage has been done.

According to The Truth About Guns, “The United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) will discuss a motion at its February 24, 2025, board meeting to address gender equity in the sport by establishing an ad hoc advisory committee.

“The motion, detailed in the meeting agenda proposes a committee of 10 female and transgender shooters under 40 who have competed in at least one national event. The committee, chaired by Stephanie Thome, will prepare a confidential report—unless unanimously approved for public release—assessing the current environment for female and transgender competitors, evaluating policies, and recommending growth strategies and marketing campaigns according to the meeting agenda.”

Obviously if women want to shoot for fun, or if “transgender” people want to shoot for fun, that is great, and they should be allowed just as much as anyone else.

But to try to achieve so-called equity in the sport of shooting is evidence that there is a deeper agenda here, one that seems to align with the radical ideas that have emerged from universities.

The article continues, “This initiative shows that the USPSA is putting in even more effort to broaden the appeal of practical shooting, a sport that has seen some pretty astronomical growth as has the rest of the competitive shooting world over the last decade.”

Considering what public opinion seems to say right now about DEI initiatives, it seems that their attempt to “broaden the appeal” of the sport is actually going to curb the appeal.

People are grossed out by institutions that have a strange obsession with race and gender, and there’s no reason to think USPSA members will feel any differently about their organization.

They should welcome everyone, regardless of their identity, instead of trying to achieve some kind of artificial “equity.”

It’s unfortunate to see this brand of politics seep into even a gun organization like the USPSA, but those are the times we live in.
