Democrats are very worried about Kash Patel and Pam Bondi.

And they are particularly worried about what they might do to the gun control regime.

That’s why they just interrogated them in a very aggressive way.

Gun control was one of the biggest priorities of the Biden administration, which means there is a lot for the Trump administration to undo in that area.

AG Pam Bondi has not yet removed all of the gun control rules Biden put in place, but Trump has ordered her to review it.

But Democrats are trying to take advantage of the time before that review is completed and put pressure on Bondi now to avoid touching any of Biden’s gun control rules.

That’s why they delivered an aggressively-worded letter to Bondi, as well as FBI and ATF Director Kash Patel, in the hopes of pressuring them to leave Biden’s gun control alone.

Whether it works or not is a different story, but Democrats want to make it difficult for them to proceed.

And the vast network of gun control lobbying organizations will certainly be willing to spend significant money to back them up.

According to Courthouse News Service, “House Democrats on Sunday demanded that the Justice Department explain how it plans to implement President Donald Trump’s recent executive order for a whole-of-government review of federal firearms regulations.”

“And, writing in a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, the lawmakers sought to reaffirm Congress’ role in writing — and changing — the country’s gun control laws.”

Biden certainly wasn’t concerned about Congress when he took executive action on things like so-called “ghost guns.”

That means Trump doesn’t need Congress to repeal the things that Biden implemented without Congress – he can do it himself.

The article continues, “The Trump administration last month directed the Justice Department to undertake a sweeping review of existing regulations, which it said was designed to determine whether there were any ‘ongoing infringements’ of Second Amendment rights. The president instructed the agency in the executive order to sift through federal rules, guidance and international agreements, as well as other actions taken by the White House and executive agencies.”

“But in their letter to Bondi, obtained by Courthouse News, Democrats told the attorney general they were ‘confident’ that the Justice Department’s survey would confirm that existing firearms regulations are constitutionally sound, so long as the review was conducted ‘objectively and in good faith.’”

The last part seems like an olive branch to Bondi, essentially saying that they’ll leave her alone as long as she leaves their gun control alone.

They are, effectively, “building their enemy a golden bridge to retreat” in an effort to make it as unappealing as possible for her to continue in her task to undo Biden’s gun control.

Bondi has a bit of a sketchy history with guns, and gun owners will certainly be hoping that she stands strong and does not cave.

After all, gun owners want more than just a “review” – they want Biden’s gun control off the books completely.
