Angstadt Arms is a small arms firm designing innovative weapons platforms in their Charlotte, N.C. facility.

Company President Rich Angstadt is a serial entrepreneur who previously ran a digital marketing agency, specializing in SEO. After exiting that company, Angstadt, who is a longtime firearms enthusiast, wanted a small PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine) that ran on Glock mags, but in 2014, that wasn’t really available.

Angstadt decided to scratch his own itch and built the gun he wanted himself. The Angstadt family has master gunsmiths in its lineage, and his grandfather was impressed with Angstadt’s first gun. The company has grown tremendously, and for 2022, Angstadt Arms has a booth at this year’s SHOT Show, as well as participating in range day.

They specialize in compact, PDW-type weapons, like their UDP-9 line, which is available in multiple calibers and configurations, like a braced pistol in .300 AAC with a 6 “barrel, or as a 9mm sub-machine gun, which is in use by more than 30 countries.

New for 2022 is their new MDP-9 pistol. It doesn’t debut until March, but the firearms world is abuzz. In a recent interview, Angstadt stated that the MDP-9 was actually ready two years ago, but the response to Covid created supply chain issues. Since Angstadt’s barrels were not made in-house, getting barrels made in volume wasn’t going to happen.

The MDP-9 receiver is a monolithic assembly with continuous top picatinny rail for mounting sights of your choice. It’s equipped with M-LOK interface points for mounting lights and asers, and QD points so you can run it with a single point sling. If slings aren’t your bag, then install a side folding or telescoping brace. It’s available in black, tactical grey, and FDE for whatever your mission is.

The barrel has a fluted chamber and HK style 3-lug suppressor attachment point
