The public was never supposed to find out about this plan.
But everything blew up for Biden when a secret memo got leaked.
And now gun owners have been warned about what is coming next.
Democrats are having trouble with their left-wing base right now, since many of them have come out in support of Israel, despite their millennial and Gen Z base being pro-Palestine.
In order to fix that, Democrats are trying to win their base voters back by pushing harder than ever on things like gun control.
They know that gun control gets their progressive voters fired up, and they are eager to push through gun restrictions in order to gin up turnout for 2024.
A central part of Joe Biden’s campaign plan in 2024 is to spread fear about guns. This has been confirmed by a memo that was leaked to the press.
In this memo, the Biden campaign lays out their media strategy and talking points for the upcoming presidential election.
And one of the key points is an attack on carry reciprocity and an attempt to gin up fear about gun owners.
According to The Hill, “In a memo shared first with The Hill titled ‘Trump’s America in 2025: More Guns, More Shootings, More Deaths,’ the Biden campaign cited Trump’s past comments to argue the Republican front-runner would allow more firearms in schools and push for a national concealed carry law.”
Bearing Arms reposted this story, and added context to it, saying: “Democrats in purple states and swing districts haven’t backtracked on their support for gun and magazine bans, but they do seem to be downplaying their own anti-2A viewpoints, at least for the moment. At the national level, however, Joe Biden seems intent on making gun control a big issue for Democrats in 2024.”
“The contents of the memo weren’t shared in their entirety by The Hill, but it’s worth noting that one of the specific policies Biden’s reelection team is highlighting is a national right to carry reciprocity law.
“I’m not in the habit of giving advice to the folks who want to disarm me and turn a fundamental right into a privilege to be parceled out by anti-gun bureaucrats, but I strongly encourage Team Biden to keep trying to scare voters about concealed carry. As a new poll from Marquette University recently detailed, the Bruen decision handed down by the Supreme Court last year that recognized the right to bear arms in public is broadly popular with voters… at least excluding Democrats.”
Biden’s strategy may not be the best one to actually win new voters, but he is betting that he can use it to turn out his base.
After all, his base is not happy with him right now, and he needs to pull some maneuvers to get them back in line so that he can count on their support in 2024.
