The ATF will not rest until every gun in America is taken away.

They are under orders from Joe Biden to enact new gun control at every opportunity.

And the latest piece of gun control from the ATF will shock gun owners.

Very few federal agencies have attacked the Constitution as routinely and consistently as the ATF. It is quite literally their entire mission as an organization.

They are founded on the belief that firearms are extremely dangerous for citizens to have and should be tightly controlled, just like alcohol and tobacco and other vices.

Since their founding, they have been involved in a number of incidents like Waco in 1993 where they have gone well beyond their powers as a federal agency to crack down on citizens.

Under Joe Biden, they have been unleashed to crack down on gun owners and implement gun control at every opportunity.

And the anti-gun agents at the ATF are happy to do just that.

Now they have handed down yet another piece of gun control, reclassifying some “solvent traps” as firearm silencers so that they can be regulated as such.

According to Bearing Arms, “We’ve had to contend with a continual onslaught of shenanigans from the ATF since pretty much their inception. Things have gotten worse and worse in recent years.”

“Recently the ATF sent out an open letter concerning so-called ‘solvent traps’ and it’s interesting.”

Here is what they letter had to say: “The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) recently examined devices commonly marketed as ‘solvent traps’ and has determined that some of them are ‘firearm silencers’ as defined in the Gun Control Act (GCA) and as defined in the National Firearms Act (NFA). ‘Solvent traps’ are marketed as devices that attach to firearm barrels to catch excess solvent used when cleaning firearms. ATF has not classified any device as a ‘solvent trap,’ because that term does not exist in the relevant Federal statutes or implementing regulations. However, ATF has classified numerous devices as ‘firearm silencers,’ even though they are marketed as ‘solvent traps.’”

This is another example of the ATF looking for any place they can stick their nose and crack down on gun owners and those who manufacture and sell guns and gun accessories.

The letter continues, “Current possessors of these purported ‘solvent traps’ that are silencers are encouraged to contact ATF for further guidance on how they may divest possession. If you are uncertain whether the device you possess is a ‘firearm silencer’ as defined by the GCA and NFA, please contact your local ATF Field Office. You may consult the Local ATF Office’s webpage for office contact information.”

Once again, the ATF is trying to turn ordinary citizens into criminals, telling them they must “divest possession” of their gun accessories or risk prosecution at the hands of a hostile federal bureaucracy.

This is yet another drastic overreach by the ATF, and one that could impact thousands of gun owners across America who just want to be left alone.
