Introduced at the 2022 Shot Show, the new Walther WMP (Walther Magnum Pistol) pistol is the first semi-automatic pistol from Walther chambered in the .22 WMR round.

Walther Press Release:

“The WMP puts Walther in a whole new category,” said Jens Krogh, Walther vice president of marketing and product development.  “This pistol is a completely new platform and is a game-changer for us and our customers.  We have worked tirelessly to create the most reliable and ergonomically correct .22 Mag. pistol ever made, and it turned out perfect.”

THE FRAME

The frame is polymer with ambidextrous slide stop levers, a bladed trigger safety, and a Picatinny accessory rail on the dust cover.  In 1908, Carl Walther and his son Fritz invented the first Blowback Pistol.  Walther has continued its long tradition of technical expertise and innovation in the design and production of the WMP.  For example, one of the new features on the WMP is the Quad 4U magazine release system.  The Quad 4U features a paddle style & push button magazine release on each side of the frame.  This patented, revolutionary reloading system gives the operator four ambidextrous activation points!

 THE SLIDE & BARREL

The slide is machined from aluminum and it’s Micro Red Dot ready.   The WMP comes shipped with two optics mounting adapter plates and a contoured cover plate for using standard sights.  The barrel has a fluted chamber for use with different ammunition types.
