Taurus is a Strategic Defense Company with 83 years of history and a solid reputation based on its commitment to excellence.

Headquartered in São Leopoldo, Rio Grande do Sul, Taurus has two production units: one in Bainbridge, Georgia (USA), and another in Haryana, India. Taurus has a complete product portfolio consisting of revolvers, pistols, submachine guns, rifles, carbines, and shotguns, serving the civil, military, and police markets in Brazil and in more than 100 countries.

The company employs about 3,700 people and operates an extensive supply chain that generates thousands of indirect jobs. The company invests heavily in research and development, has partnerships with renowned educational institutions, and has an Integrated Center for Technology and Engineering Brazil/United States (CITE).

As a world leader in the manufacture of revolvers and one of the largest producers of pistols in the world, Taurus is the most imported brand by the demanding North American market.

In Latin, the word “Taurus” means bull. Since antiquity, the Taurus has represented strength and vigor. This concept inspired Taurus. Believing in this meaning and facing the new moment of the company, the modern logo refers to the process of evolution of the company, maintaining the tradition that allowed it to be the largest company in the world in terms of the volume of small arms sales.

The Taurus Judge debuted in 2006, followed by the Raging Judge and the polymer-framed Public Defender. The latest version has a 13-inch barrel and a polymer forend with a Picatinny rail for lights and lasers.

“Taurus Holdings, Inc., a leading innovator in the firearms industry, is proud to announce the forthcoming release of its latest masterpiece, the ‘Judge Home Defender.’ This cutting-edge firearm represents the next evolution in performance, adaptability, and user-centric design.”

The alloy steel frame of the Home Defender is equipped with a “blast shield” that surrounds the lower edge of the front of the cylinder to contain the gas that escapes from the cylinder gap when firing the revolver. Taurus also mounted an aluminum Picatinny rail on top designed for optics.

The 13-inch barrel is constructed of alloy steel and finished in matte black. It features a 1:16-inch RH twist with six grooves.

Taurus strategically integrated rubber grips into the design, which maximizes recoil absorption, delivering a comfortable and controlled shooting experience for all users. The Polymer forend is equipped with a Picatinny rail for lights, lasers, or even a bipod.
