Heritage Manufacturing has been around for a while, producing their classic Rough Rider Pistols line. In 2012, Heritage was purchased by Taurus Firearms; operations were moved to Miami. Now Heritage, as well as Taurus, are producing firearms in a new 200,000-square-foot facility in Bainbridge, Georgia.

While the Heritage barkeep boot features a 1.68-inch barrel and a unique look, it still uses the same operating system as the Heritage Rough Rider series. This includes a hammer firing system, manual safety, notched rear sight, and black oxide finished barrel, frame, and cylinder. The Barkeep Boot can be had in several different finishes and grip types. Heritage manufacturing also has holsters, engraved cylinders, and other accessories available.

Heritage has several models of .22 LR pistols including a 9-shot revolver and a carbine version revolver with a 16-inch barrel.
