CANCON is a fully suppressed range day and firearms trade show. Weapons manufacturers from the firearms industry travel to Georgia to display their products, and you get to test-fire them.

I attended this year’s CANCON Georgia at the incredible 17 South Rod & Gun Club in Fleming, Georgia, near beautiful Savannah. Those on the West Coast had a CANCON event in Phoenix, Arizona, in April 2023.

No need to bring your weapons. With dozens of manufacturers in attendance, such as heavy hitters like Daniel Defense, Maxim Defense, Magpul, Silencer Central, SIG Sauer, Gem Tech, and Fabrique Nationale, as well as a guarantee of at least 200 different weapons available, there is about a 100% chance you will shoot a suppressed weapon.

Since the event is called CANCON, several suppressor manufacturers were in attendance. If you are in the market for a suppressed weapon, this is the place to buy one. Not only do you have the ability to test fire the can of your choice, but you can also complete and file all your paperwork and purchase a can at the show.

While checking out the displays, I saw that many suppressor manufacturers are still machining their cans. Still, there are a lot of companies gradually shifting over to 3D printing to build suppressors.

While at the PTR booth, I was able to shoot their Archon Type B pistol and their MP-5 type submachine gun, and both are a dream to shoot.

Silencer Central was in attendance with their Banish line of multi-caliber suppressors. Maxim Defense had its line of MSX Suppressors, an opportunity to try them out, and a suppressed belt fed.

There were also several “Joe Versus Pro” competitions where attendees could compete against gun industry staff, pro shooters, and a suppressed night shoot.
