Gunpowder readers, remember our recent piece about skyrocketing sales at Beverly Hills Guns?  In the story, Breitbart News reported that firearms sales in Beverly Hills have skyrocketed!  It seems the lifestyles of the Rich & Famous are evolving for the worse.  Since July 2020, Beverly Hills Guns, located at 433 N Camden Dr. in the “Golden Triangle of 90210,” has been busy.  Store owner Russell Stuart states, “Prominent actors, real estate moguls, and film executives are among those flocking to my store for self-defense firearms.” Russell recently sold 6 shotguns in about an hour to people saying, “I want a home defense shotgun.”  Stuart says, “there is a general sense of fear in the air … We’re used to this being like Mayberry.”  The fear comes from recent high profile “Smash and Grab” incidents.  According to The Guardian, there were 11 such incidents in a two-week period, with a total take of $330,000!

Now here’s the kicker.  In an update to the story by Breitbart news, Beverly Hills Guns has been given 60 days to close its doors!  The store was notified on April 7 that it has 60 days to close.  The eviction was ordered by the property management company.  The store owner, Russell Stuart, said his secretary opened the letter and when she brought him the news, there was sorrow in her eyes.  Upon reading the eviction notice Stuart stated:

Beverly Hills Guns has been one of the most popular retail stores in the city, and I’ve been incredibly proud of the work that we’ve done to bring the Second Amendment to the city of Beverly Hills and to its residents, who have been experiencing one of the worst crime waves in the city’s history. As the 204th ranked safest city in California, behind Long Beach and Inglewood, I am sad to see that the owners of my office do not feel the need to have a store like mine in their building during this crucial and dangerous time for our residents.

This could possibly mean the end of Beverly Hills Guns all together.  Re-opening requires jumping through many hoops: Stuart explained that first, he would have to find a new location and sign a lease.  Second (only after signing a lease), he must get a new license from the ATF, then get approval from the California DOJ, and finally get approval from the city of Beverly Hills!

No reason was given for the eviction.  Perhaps the management company was pressured by the state?  When your state is run by one of the worst governors in the country, who’s also an anti- 2A liberal, anything is possible!

The crime rate in Beverly Hills continues to rise.  Just last month, the LAPD police chief Michael Moore reported that robberies with firearms are up 44% in the City of Angels.  What a great time to shutter a gun store!

That’s all for now folks!   Please keep sending in your questions, tips, and article Ideas.  And as always – “Let’s Be Careful Out There”
