This wasn’t the outcome the FBI was looking for.

They slipped up and accidentally did something that helped the gun rights movement.

Now they are regretting their mistake as gun owners seize on the opportunity.

When the FBI releases data on particular issues, it is frequently done in a selective way with the intention of pushing a specific narrative.

The problem is that sometimes when they release data to back up one particular narrative that they want to push, they accidentally undermine a different one.

In this case, the FBI wanted to rebut conservative critics who say that crime in inner cities is out of control.

They put out data showing a decline in crime to try to push back against that.

However, in the process of putting out this data, they accidentally admitted that more guns do not equal more crime, since gun purchases have skyrocketed in recent years.

As a result, the FBI has accidentally contributed to the arguments from gun rights advocates who say that repealing gun control bills won’t endanger the community.

And they have to be regretting putting this data out after it proved gun rights supporters correct.

According to The Truth About Guns, “The latest Federal Bureau of Investigation crime data for the first quarter of 2024 shows a substantial reduction in crime compared to the same time last year. In fact, the FBI reported that crime fell more than 15% from the first quarter 2023.”

Of course, this doesn’t actually prove that crime is no longer a problem. It only proves that it rose to outrageous levels during COVID and now is returning somewhat back to normal.

But it certainly does show that an increase in gun ownership isn’t doing anything to increase the crime statistics.

The article continues, “With near record gun sales for almost five years, wouldn’t that reduction prove that Lott’s seminal book, More Guns, Less Crime, published back in 1998 and updated a number of times since then, is even more true today than it was then?”

“In the end, you can either believe your lying eyes that tell you violent crime continues to be on the upswing and the Biden Administration has failed Americans in that respect, or you can believe crime has gone down substantially in the wake of Americans buying more than 1 million guns a month for the past 58 months. Neither option looks good for the Biden gun-ban clan.”

Joe Biden has to be furious with his FBI for putting out this data. He has made gun control a top priority in his administration, and now his FBI is coming out and contradicting his narrative.

They surely did not mean to, but that’s the outcome of them putting out this report.

Gun owners now have a powerful tool to argue, correctly, that states should feel comfortable loosening gun restrictions, as data proves that it will not increase crime.

Hopefully politicians across the country will listen to this data and act accordingly to pass legislation in favor of gun rights.
