New York Times columnist David Brooks argued that the United States should be more like Europe pertaining to societal views on, and policies toward, gun control and ownership.

While discussing red flag laws and enacting more strict gun control policies, Brooks said he would give up some personal freedoms for what he hoped would be a safer society.

During a segment on PBS’ “Newshour,” Brooks said.

“… that would take a gigantic culture shift in this country. A revamping of the way we think about privacy, a revamping of the way we think about the role government plays in protecting the common good.”

“I think it would be something. I think it would be good not only to head off shootings but good to live in a society where we cared more intimately about each other. And I would be willing to give up certain privacies for that to happen … But for many Americans that would be a massive cultural shift to regard our community and regard our common good in more frankly a European style. I think it would benefit our society in a whole range of areas, but it’s hard to see that kind of culture change to a society that’s been pretty individualistic for a long, long time.”

Mr. Brooks! since you are so enamored with European-style gun control, would you kindly please move there? The New York Times has offices in London where your only concern would be a stabbing. Perhaps if your mayor cared about the people and prosecuted criminals instead of making the rounds on the celebrity party circuit, the city would be safer.

Liberals are in full gun control mode in the wake of the Colorado and Virginia mass shootings. President Biden expressed his desire to sign gun control legislation before this session of Congress ends.

“The idea we still allow semi-automatic weapons to be purchased is sick,” Biden said. “It has no socially redeeming value… Not a single solitary rationale for it except profit for the gun manufacturers.”

When asked about his desire to ban all semi-automatic weapons, the dementia-ridden resident of the White House stated he never made the above statement.

But wait, there’s more! Leftwing Extremist Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut recently said a “conversation” needs to be had about how some law enforcement departments across the country have stated they are going to refuse to enforce some gun laws and declare themselves a “Second Amendment sanctuary state.”

“I think we have to have a conversation about whether we can continue to fund law enforcement in states where they’re refusing to implement these gun laws,” Murphy said. “I’ll talk to my colleagues about what our approach should be to this problem. But 60% of counties in this country are refusing to implement the nation’s gun laws. We’ve got to do something about that.”

In the CNN Sunday interview, Murphy suggests withholding federal funds from law enforcement agencies that refuse to enforce gun laws.

“They have decided that they are going to essentially refuse to implement laws that are on the books. That is a growing problem in this country, and I think we’re going to have to have a conversation about that in the United States Senate. Do we want to continue to supply funding to law enforcement in counties that refuse to implement state and federal gun laws?”

Senator Murphy, the 60% of counties that won’t enforce your gun laws are doing so because they’re unconstitutional! Law Enforcement in these areas took an oath to support and defend the Constitution. I know you consider the Constitution as that piece of paper that gets in the way of your tyranny, but some people take their oaths seriously.

As for funding, like all liberals, you act as though the money is yours; it’s not! You are funding comes from tax money. The federal government merely steals these funds from state governments, brings the money to the sewer known as D.C., takes their cut like the mafia they are, and then redistributes what’s left to the states – but only if the states behave.

If you want to enforce gun laws, prosecute Hunter Biden for lying about drug use on his BATF form 4473 when he purchased his pistol that was later dumped in a trash can near a school!

That’s all for now folks! Please keep sending in your questions, tips, and article ideas. And as always – “Let’s Be Careful Out There.”
