Kristen Rand of the Violence Policy Center thinks your Glock pistol should be regulated by the BATFE so they can use their power to re-classify them as Machine Guns.
Rand claims that Glocks and other unspecified firearms should be classified as machine guns because they are purported to be “readily convertible” into automatically firing weapons. The term “readily convertible,” however, was created by the left and is nowhere to be found in the definition of a machine gun.
The reasoning behind this push is two-fold. The anti-gunners hate guns, and they want total control over your life. Another reason is they know they’re about to get trounced in the midterms and no gun control will get passed for at least two years.
The argument that anti-gunners bring to the table is that semi-automatics can be “Readily Converted” to fully automatic. This lie is based on the growing number of Glock pistols that have been illegally converted to fully automatic via the use of so-called “Glock Switches” by gang members and other assorted criminals.
Rand says the effort to regulate the switches might be too late. She says concentrating on the devices is “probably a lost cause.” “The focus should be on why so many firearms are so easily converted to full auto,” noting that Glocks and other guns can easily be modified. “Manufacturers must bear some of the responsibility to design their guns to be more resistant to conversion.”
As usual, liberals would rather regulate handguns than focus on illegal conversion or violent criminals who use them.
The left simply wants your guns and isn’t going to stop until they get them. Perhaps they should apply the rule of law to criminals. Instead of eliminating cash bail and releasing criminals, put them in jail!
18 U.S.C. §924 provides that the transfer or possession of an unregistered machine gun is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Further, the same code section makes clear that a person who uses a machine gun in a crime of violence or drug trafficking “shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than 30 years.”
The next GOP congress must fight this idea on every level. The Biden administration has been ignoring the law for two years now. The GOP must conduct serious investigations and put people in prison. They will control the purse strings when they take power, and the government must be defunded if they continue with their criminal behavior.
