For those Gunpowder readers following the story of the January 6 protesters (and you should be) manhunt, arrest, incarceration, and denial of bail in violation of the 8th amendment, I’ve put together a summary taken from the report written by the office of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene [GA-14]. The inspection and findings of the jail’s treatment of J6 prisoners should make you extremely angry!

The amount of work involved in even getting into the D.C. Central Detention Facility (CDF) & Central Treatment Facility (CTF) was tremendous. Rep. Greene, as well as Rep. Louie Gohmert, were blocked repeatedly from inspecting the jail.

On Thursday, November 4th 2021, Greene, Gohmert and a few of their staff members were given approximately 14 minutes notice that they would be able to tour the jail, barely making it in time with the drive during rush hour D.C. traffic.

Perhaps the stalling had something to do with an inspection of the facility conducted by the U.S. Marshal’s service two days prior. The marshals found conditions appalling and had 400 prisoners moved to another facility in Pennsylvania, although detainees in the J6 wing were not included. The J6 detainees stated that while the marshals were inspecting other areas, prison staff were frantically cleaning the J6 wing before inspection.

Once inside, the descriptions of the facility were shocking! Overcrowding, filth, and a mélange of odors from feces, mold, cannabis, bleach, and burnt toilet paper. After seeing all the other units, Rep. Greene and her party were initially denied access to J6 detainees. Rep. Greene got into a heated discussion with representatives for the mayor and the jail. Jail staff, including Deputy Warden Kathleen Landerkin, announced the tour was over. After the reps. refused to leave the facility until seeing the J6 detainees, the jail staff, after a flurry of phone calls, reluctantly allowed the tour to continue.

January 6 Wing of the CTF

Reps. Greene and Gohmert entered the J6 wing and observed that the cells were extremely small, equipped with the usual toilet-sink combination, and small cot. The cell walls had traces of blood, feces, mold, bodily fluids, and dirt. During the marshal’s inspection, the showers were scrubbed to get rid of the black mold, but some was still present. The common area walls were freshly painted. And most areas had been sprayed with bleach.

The J6 detainees have been refused religious services, and the inmates stated they have a Bible and perform their own church services. They do not have access to their attorneys, families, or proper nutrition. They receive their mail “when the guards feel like it.” When Rep. Greene asked the inmates about the number of meals they received per day, they said “Three, define ‘meal.’” The inmates finish their day at 9 p.m. when they sing the Star-Spangled Banner.

In addition to the physical conditions, many of the inmates were treated as high security risks and kept in their cells 23 hours a day with one hour outside. For a reference, those are the conditions at the Supermax, aka USP ADX Federal Prison in Florence, Colorado where the Shoe Bomber resides! They are not allowed a haircut without being vaccinated, the same with communion.

Just recently, Rep. Greene has uncovered Tweets from Deputy Warden Kathleen Landerkin illustrating her hate for President Trump, Republicans, conservatives, the J6 detainees, and much more. The Tweets uncovered show Landerkin for the partisan she is and the criticism of her has reached a fever pitch. Landerkin recently deleted her entire Twitter account. Don’t worry Kathleen, Marjorie Taylor Greene saved it all just for you!

As we’ve seen, the Biden residency does not believe in the rule of law. If they deny J6 detainees bail in violation of the 8th amendment, they won’t have any qualms about denying you Second Amendment rights. Biden has re-started a push for more gun control. On Dec 14th, Biden spoke at the 9th anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting stating, “We owe them action.” There are also continued rumblings about ATF re-classifying arm brace equipped weapons as “short barreled rifles,” which would require registration or destruction.

The time is now folks! Get involved and put your representatives on notice! They work for YOU! Ask them why they didn’t go and tour the D.C. gulag!

That’s all for now folks! Please keep sending in your questions, tips, and article ideas. And as always – “Let’s be careful out there.”
