Everyone has been wondering what Trump’s move is going to be.
He has played his cards close to his vest.
But liberal media just caught wind of one thing he is apparently going to do on guns.
Trump hasn’t made his move on guns yet, but the winds seem to be blowing in favor of something that will make gun owners very happy.
He hasn’t announced yet what he is planning to do, but the rumblings are starting to emerge that he is going to dismantle gun control in a big way.
Trump has gone out of his way to try to make his various constituent groups happy, and he did get a lot of support from gun owners in the election, mostly due to how bad they saw Kamala Harris as.
It stands to reason that he would want to do the same thing for gun owners too, but many have questioned whether his heart is really in it, as he’s not known as a big gun guy.
But apparently he is going to do what gun owners want, and that is making liberal publications like Mother Jones very worried.
Here’s what Mother Jones said: “Now, President Donald Trump has moved quickly to undo the progress made with gun safety policies. He shut down the Office of Gun Violence Prevention immediately after taking office. And on Feb. 7, he signed an executive order directing US Attorney General Pam Bondi to ‘examine all orders, regulations, guidance, plans, international agreements, and other actions of executive departments and agencies’ from Biden’s term, to assess whether those ‘infringe on the Second Amendment rights’ of Americans. Within 30 days, Bondi is to give Trump ‘a plan of action.’”
Trump’s executive order, of course, doesn’t do anything by itself. Bondi could come back with a “plan of action” in 30 days and recommend buying another water cooler at the ATF and call it a day.
But that is unlikely, and his executive order is a hopeful sign – or a dangerous one, from the perspective of Mother Jones.
The article continues, “Areas at risk could include efforts to combat the emerging danger from untraceable firearms that are made from kits or using 3-D printers, known as ‘ghost guns.’ Trump has a history from his first term in office of undermining regulation of these weapons. When Biden became president, crime involving ghost guns was skyrocketing. Biden moved to make such firearms subject to serial numbers and background checks, and later established an ATF task force to focus on the problem.”
Mother Jones may not like the direction that this administration goes on guns, but it seems increasingly likely that gun owners in the U.S. will be happy.
Even if Trump isn’t a huge fan of guns himself, he knows where his votes came from, and he wants to deliver for the people who supported him.
This could end up strengthening the Second Amendment in America, but gun owners will keep the pressure on Trump until he takes action and follows through.
