In the wake of another shooting, Socialists in the U.S. Senate have introduced Gun Control!  I know, shocking, right?  The new legislation was introduced by three of the more despicable Senate Socialists, Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Cory “Spartacus” Booker (D-NJ), and stolen valor sleazeball Richard Blumenthal (D-CT).  The bill would create a whole new level of regulation and, of course, would give the government sweeping powers to confiscate firearms.

The new legislation would require gun owners to do the following:
* Obtain a license issued by the Department of Justice with a 5-year limit before purchasing a
gun.
* Undergo firearms safety training, which includes a written and practical test.
* Complete a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and be over the age of 21.

The law also would require the buyer to disclose identifying information on the firearm and about the seller.  And of course, the bill requires that the purchase be recorded and approved by the US Attorney General.

The buyer could be denied a license by the Attorney General for reasons such as a “history of drug and alcohol abuse,” a “history of recent firearm or ammunition purchases,” or if the applicant has a “history of unsafe storage or handling of firearms.”

The law would ban so-called “ghost guns,” ban so-called “assault weapons,” ban standard capacity magazines, and repeal gun manufacturer liability!

The bill is vague in that it does not state if a buyer must obtain another license to purchase more firearms, or if any more purchases would be allowed at all.

It also has many provisions regarding revocation of the license and confiscation of any firearms. For example, the bill has “procedures to ensure that any firearm is removed from any individual when the individual’s license is revoked.”

This legislation is wholly unconstitutional, of course, but as we all know Socialists aren’t interested in the law because laws don’t apply to them.

We’ll keep Gunpowder readers updated on the progress of this bill.  In the meantime, start burning up the phone lines to your Senator, even if you think it won’t do any good.

That’s all for now folks!   Please keep sending in your questions, tips, and article ideas.  And as always – “Let’s Be Careful Out There.”
