Kriss firearms has a compact version of their Sphinx pistol and you’re gonna love it.  KRISS USA is an extension of the Swiss based Kriss company.  They are a leading manufacturer, distributor, and provider of small arms, training replicas, and accessories for commercial, military, and law enforcement users worldwide.

Switzerland means precision and Kriss firearms has a reputation of manufacturing precision crafted firearms, such as the Sphinx brand.  Originally founded in 1876 in Solothurn, Switzerland as a precision tooling manufacturer, SPHINX has since evolved into the Swiss reference for pistol manufacturing.

Starting with top-shelf materials, every major component is machined from billet and assembled by hand to ensure the very best fit and finish. Grip inserts that adjust the length of the backstrap and width of the grip, provide ergonomic fit for a wide range of hands.  The resulting finish is a pistol with competition level accuracy that feels like an extension of the body.  Though there are many faster and more economical ways to make a handgun, there is only one way to make a SPHINX, and that tradition of excellence is the cornerstone of the SPHINX brand.

The amount of work going into the Sphinx frame shows the level of craftsmanship involved with a Sphinx.  It starts with a hard coat, anodized, aluminum frame; a high cut, beavertail, beveled, magazine well; and an enlarged trigger guard with high, undercut, railed dust cover. Then they added an ambidextrous decocking lever, interchangeable grip inserts, and a reversible magazine release!

The Sphinx uses the same type of reversed rail interface as the CZ-75. This design has the slide nesting within the frame instead of overhanging it.  Front and rear slide serrations give a better grip, and the extractor also serves as a loaded chamber indicator.
