Outrage has erupted nationwide as one Democrat said the quiet part out loud.
She talked too much and accidentally let the truth slip.
Now everyone knows what gun grabbers are planning to do with their power.
A national gun registry has been one of the biggest goals of the gun control movement for quite some time now.
They want to be able to track everyone who owns a gun, and how many guns they own, so they can use the government to harass them and treat them like criminals.
Democrat politicians know, however, that they have to be careful about what they say out loud, or else they could activate the entire gun rights community and hurt themselves politically.
That’s why they always use vague and euphemistic language about guns that allows them to have plausible deniability about what their goals really are.
Some politicians are not very good at keeping their mouth shut, however, and accidentally let the truth slip.
That is exactly what happened with one Democrat member of Congress as she started talking about the plans for a national gun registry.
According to The Truth About Guns, “During a debate over a proposed amendment aimed at removing the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ (ATF) ability to establish a national gun registry, U.S. Rep. Bonnie Coleman, D-New Jersey, said what most gun-banners think but are hesitant to actually say out loud.”
Here is what Coleman said: “I think it is a wonderful idea that we have a registry of every gun that is owned by a civilian in the United States of America because then we could have, perhaps, less killings in our neighborhoods, less killings at our supermarkets, less killings at our concerts, less killings period in the United States of America.”
It’s clear that she made this statement in a fit of anger and didn’t think about the fact that she wasn’t supposed to say this out loud.
Most politicians are supposed to have messaging discipline about subjects like this, but Coleman apparently got too emotional to hold back her real feelings.
The article continues, “In truth, Coleman has never seen a gun control scheme that she didn’t embrace. She is an advocate for banning so-called ‘assault weapons’ and ‘high-capacity magazines,’ raising the age for firearm purchasers, instituting ‘universal’ background checks, legislating restrictive storage requirements and banning bump stocks, which the Department of Justice did back during the Trump Administration and the Supreme Court recently overturned.”
The ugly reality is that most anti-gun politicians do not actually support the so-called “common sense measures” that they claim to support. That is an incrementalist political tactic.
They want to remove all guns from the hands of American citizens. They want the Second Amendment repealed and laws passed preventing civilians from owning guns, restricting them to police and military.
A national gun registry is supposed to be a step in that direction, and Rep. Coleman accidentally let the truth slip about her support of such a registry.
