When gun control backfires it can get extremely ugly.
That is exactly what happened with this failed gun control plot.
And Joe Biden will be horrified to hear about this massive failure.
Massachusetts has decided to become perhaps the most anti-gun state in the country, at least in terms of the laws that its politicians have decided to pass.
State legislators in Massachusetts realized a long time ago that no matter how far they went on gun control, their voters would never hold them accountable for it.
For that reason, they’ve decided to appeal to the farthest left fringes of the Democratic Party and pass laws that are plainly unconstitutional in order to attack the freedoms of gun owners.
Those laws, however, are apparently not working the way these legislators intended, and the results are turning ugly very quickly.
Guns are still being distributed on the black market in the inner cities of places like Boston, Worcester, Lawrence, Brockton or New Bedford.
Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have to be looking at this and scratching their heads, wondering how soon people are going to catch on to the fact that gun control doesn’t work.
According to Bearing Arms, “The state has a massive amount of gun control. You need a license to buy a gun. You need a license to own a gun at all. There are restrictions on magazine capacity and you can’t carry a gun in any manner at all without a separate permit. You can’t own a so-called assault weapon and you can’t get a gun without a background check, even from a non-dealer.
“That is, you need all of that to do anything lawfully. If you don’t care about laws, as mentioned before, none of that applies to you. And some recent arrests in Boston show just how little any of that means to folks who don’t.”
Deep down, everyone knows this is true of course. Criminals do not follow laws. Few criminals will ever submit to some gun control regime out of the goodness of their hearts.
Here is what went down, according to the Newport Dispatch: “The arrests began early in the morning when at about 2:11 a.m., the Youth Violence Strike Force apprehended a 15-year-old juvenile male on firearm charges.
“The suspect attempted to evade police near Washington Street and Talbot Avenue but was found hiding under a vehicle after discarding a backpack with a P80 Ghost gun.
“Later in the morning, at approximately 11:15 a.m., during the Caribbean Festival, Edgard Matos, 18, of Hyde Park, and Breaja Nichols, 23, of Brighton, were arrested after Nichols was found in possession of a firearm and Matos was caught following a pursuit.”
It’s clear that these people were not going to follow the dictates of some liberal legislator. The only people who actually followed the new laws were – wait for it – law-abiding citizens.
The sooner Massachusetts Democrats, and gun grabbers in other states, realize this, the sooner they can start working on more effective solutions to crime instead of gun control.
