This will throw a major wrench into Kamala Harris’s plans.

She has made anti-gun legislation one of the top focal points of her campaign.

But after what the FBI said about guns, it is going to be hard for her to accomplish her goal.

The Biden-Harris administration has leaned hard into the culture war during their time in office, and one of their top targets has been guns.

They know that they don’t have a strong grip on the left-wing base of the Democratic Party, and they are trying to appease them in any way possible.

That means taking it to the groups of people that make up the conservative coalition, like gun owners.

Nothing fires up left-wing activists more than seeing their perceived “enemies” get attacked by the government, and Biden and Harris have been more than happy to satisfy that desire.

But now the FBI has reluctantly put out some information that will throw a major curveball at the Biden-Harris administration.

And it could blow up the gun control plans that Kamala Harris has been pitching on the campaign trail for president.

According to the Patch, “Following last year’s passage of a statewide ban on assault weapons and large-capacity magazines, Illinoisans responded by purchasing more guns than ever.

“Legal gun sales in Illinois increased by 5 percent from 2022 to 2023, marking the second-largest increase in the nation, according to FBI data compiled by SafeHome.

“Using data from the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System to reflect the number of background checks conducted for firearm purchases, the home security organization reported 504,452 firearms were sold in Illinois last year.”

If the gun control laws that Democrats want so badly are actually leading to more guns being purchased, not less, then perhaps they will have to go back to the drawing board.

After all, it will be hard for Kamala Harris to pitch these laws to her base if they are causing more gun sales throughout the nation.

The article continues, “The increase in gun sales comes after Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed the Protect Illinois Communities Act in January 2023. Drawn up in the wake of the Highland Park shooting the year before, the law defined assault weapons, banned their sale and limited magazine capacity to 15 rounds for pistols and 10 for long guns.

“The majority of 2023 gun purchases in Illinois came in the months that followed the new law, which included provisions requiring the registration existing assault weapons with state police by the start of this year.”

It’s clear that the law has been an abject failure so far, which is something that gun owners and Second Amendment advocates should be celebrating.

Kamala Harris and her allies on the left have to be scratching their heads wondering how a law that they have pushed so hard could have had the opposite effect of what they intended.

Gun owners have made a loud statement that they will not be deterred by gun control, and it is going to throw a wrench in Kamala Harris’s plans.
