Things are not going well for Joe Biden.

He launched a coordinated attack on American citizens who own guns.

But he was hit with a major tsunami after his attempted gun grab.

Joe Biden picked the wrong target to mess with. He was trying to be the big bully in the room, but that’s not exactly how things turned out for him.

He directed the ATF to implement a new rule that would close the alleged “gun show loophole,” but really was a thinly veiled attempt to criminalize people who sell guns to their friends.

This, of course, would turn countless ordinary Americans into criminals overnight. Giving guns to family or friends is a common practice for many people.

These people are not threats to society in any way, and there’s no reason why they should be targeted by the full force of the federal government.

Biden thought that his newest attack on the Second Amendment would be a political winner in 2024.

But instead he is being hit with a backlash, as nearly half of the U.S. Senate has declared war on his gun control agenda.

According to The Center Square, “Forty-five Republicans U.S. senators filed a Congressional Review Act resolution to block a Biden administration Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives rule from being enforced that would require anyone who sells firearms to register as federal firearm licensees.”

“For decades, federal law has distinguished between firearms dealers, who are required to have a federal license to sell firearms, and private individuals who are not required to have a license to purchase and sell firearms privately.

“Claiming the new law as the basis for the rule, the ATF measure would require thousands of law-abiding citizens to register as dealers to buy, sell or trade firearms with friends and neighbors. The Republican attorneys general argue the rule is unconstitutional and burdens citizens with unnecessary costs.”

The Republican AG’s and Senators are correct in this case. The ATF is unjustly targeting peaceful American citizens who aren’t doing anything wrong.

They are going to end up criminalizing people who are normal members of society, even as career criminals in inner cities go unpunished by left-wing prosecutors.

The article continues, “In response to the rule, 26 states sued seeking a court to block it from going into effect. Texas and Kansas led two multi-state coalitions; Florida filed its own lawsuit, The Center Square reported. A judge just granted the Texas-Kansas led coalition a temporary restraining order against the administration, halting the rule from going into effect until June 2, to allow hearings to be held.”

This new rule by the ATF is an extreme danger to the Constitution, because it adds to the feeling that owning guns is dangerous under the Biden administration.

If people feel like they cannot exercise a core Constitutional right due to heavy-handed government pressure, then that right is as good as gone.

And if the Second Amendment collapses, the entire Bill of Rights will be soon to follow.
