Donald Trump is going to have to listen to what these gun owners are saying.
They have made a serious demand of him.
And these gun owners are not going away unless he takes action to save the Second Amendment.
Much of the reforms that Donald Trump has enacted in the early part of his administration have to do with government spending and the bureaucratic state.
But gun owners want to make sure that he does not forget to look after their interests in the midst of all the chaos.
There are a number of moves Trump could make to strengthen the Second Amendment, and gun owners want him to pay attention to these key things.
He has a lot on his plate, but gun owners want to make sure the Second Amendment is at the top of his agenda and doesn’t get buried under other things.
Now, a group of gun owners in Wyoming are speaking up about exactly what they want to see Trump do.
And Trump should listen to these people, who almost certainly voted for him, and pay attention to what they’re asking for.
According to Cowboy State Daily, “There might be good news coming for Wyoming hunters and shooters fed up with jumping through hoops to get suppressors for their guns, as President Donald Trump might be poised to lift 91-year-old restrictions on them.
“Avid hunter, trapper and angler Adam Ashmore told Cowboy state Daily that he’d love to see that happen.”
But while suppressors might become easier to obtain, that won’t be the case with fully automatic weapons, gun rights lobbyist Mark Jones of Buffalo told Cowboy State Daily.
“Trump campaigned on promises to loosen firearms restrictions, and he seems ready to deliver on that – at least when it comes to suppressors – which are commonly, though mistakenly, called ‘silencers,’ Jones said.”
Trump really should do something about the so-called “assault weapons” bans which do nothing to stop mass violence, as they are based on a fundamental misunderstanding of how guns work.
It’s great if he acts to loosen restrictions on silencers, but gun owners agree that he should do more.
The article continues, “Current restrictions on fully automatic rifles and pistols, submachine guns and machine guns will likely stay in place, Jones said. Those include special licensing, and extensive waiting period and paying the tax stamp.
“Full-autos generally aren’t legal for hunting – they’re mostly shot purely for entertainment on gun ranges.”
Full-autos aren’t the thing that gun owners are clamoring for, however. It’s semi-autos, a number of which are banned in many blue states.
Gun owners would be thrilled if Trump did something about that, but no one is quite sure if that is in the cards for his administration.
Trump has proven to be unpredictable, especially on the issue of guns, and no one quite knows what is coming down the pike.
But these gun owners in Wyoming are making clear demands of Trump, and he would be wise to heed what they are saying.
