ABOUT RUGER

Sturm, Ruger & Company was founded by William B. Ruger and Alexander McCormick Sturm in 1949 in a small, rented machine shop in Southport, Connecticut.

When the duo designed their first semi-auto pistol, Ruger incorporated the looks of the German Luger and the Colt Woodsman into their first commercially produced .22 caliber pistol, the Ruger Standard. The Standard became so successful that it launched the entire company.

In 1964, Bill Ruger and Harry Sefried designed the 10/22 rifle, and a legend was born. Ruger states that over 7 million 10/22 rifles have been produced to date in all configurations, making it the most popular rimfire semi-automatic rifle in the world.

The 10/22 rifle is so popular and has so many aftermarket parts and accessories that a complete 10/22 rifle can be assembled without using a single Ruger factory part!

In 2024, the 10/22 celebrates its 60th year in production with a 60th-anniversary carbine edition.

Ruger now produces revolvers, semi-automatic pistols, and AR-pattern rifles and is one of the largest firearms manufacturers in the world.

THE FRAME

The finished bronze frame is Cerakoted to provide protection from the elements. Ruger added safety features such as a transfer bar mechanism and loading gate interlock, offering an extra security measure against accidental discharge. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. The “Single-Six” style frame is finished with checkered grips.

THE CYLINDER & BARREL

The cold hammer-forged barrel provides exceptional accuracy as well as longevity. It has a 1:14 right-hand twist and is Cerakoted. The Super Wrangler ships with an extra cylinder chambered in .22 WMR that can be switched out without any tools. Convertibility provides the shooter with two caliber options.
