New for 2022, Grand Power has made some modifications to its K22 Pistol, creating the K22 X-Trim. Let’s Take a look!

GRAND POWER USA

The company that produces the K22 X-Trim is Grand Power manufacturing based in Slovakia. The company founder, Jaroslav Kuracina, had a dream of designing & building firearms. After suffering many setbacks his dream was realized and Grand Power was born.

After years of working with Grand Power on large contracts including the hugely successful U.S. Army Sub-Compact Weapons Program, the decision was made that Global Ordnance, LLC would become the new U.S. distributor for the Grand Power brand. Global Ordnance is a Sarasota, Fl based company that sources and provides ammunition, weapons, and energetic materials to the U.S. D.O.D.

THE FRAME

The X-Trim uses a polymer frame with a billet steel chassis, and the person who built your gun has his initials stamped on it! The weapon comes standard with enlarged safety levers, but smaller ones are shipped with the gun. Four different backstraps are also included, and there is a picatinny rail for accessory mounting.

THE SLIDE & BARREL

The first thing that catches your eye is the skeletonized slide. The original K22 had a Beretta style slide. The skeletonized slide of the X-Trim is manufactured in a way to reduce weight, but the slide is still heavier than the original K22. The K22 will cycle pretty much any ammo you put in it, but the X-Trim variation seems to like a bit of power behind it. The barrel is threaded, and Grand Power uses a corrosion resistant Tenifer heat treatment.
