ABOUT DILLON RIFLE COMPANY

The Dillon Rifle Company (DRC) is the newest project of the Dillon Empire. Dillon Precision is well known in reloading circles for its quality products. Dillon Aero is known for its expertise with the Minigun and has been steadily developing a new .50 caliber Gatling gun. Now, Dillon Rifle Company has been formed. Their first product was the OPAR trigger, which retired Navy SEAL Brodie Renner created to reduce the chances of an accidental discharge from AR pattern rifles. Renner experienced an AD from a fellow operator and designed the OPAR. The DRC was formed to create a new generation of semiautomatic rifles, as they believe the market has become repetitive. DRC will soon release a new series of rifles and related products built with the same quality as Dillon Aero and Dillon Precision.

THE TAC 501 RIFLE

The TAC 501 is a purpose-built long-range weapon system designed for superior precision and chambered in 50 BMG. It is built on the legendary McMillan TAC 50 legacy, which has the record for the longest engagement by a Canadian special operations team, Joint Task Force 2, hitting an ISIS fighter at a range of 3,540 meters (3,870 yd.; 2.20 mi.).

THE INTERNALS – FURNITURE

This rifle uses a Remington 700-style 4.5lb trigger with a bottom-style safety. The custom-built Grayboe carbon fiber stock is available in 3 colors (Deep Blue, DRC Green, & Basic Black). It features a 1.0-inch adjustable cheek rest, an adjustable length of pull of 13.5 – 14.25 inches using .25-inch spacers, a Limbsaver recoil pad, MLOK rails at the 3, 6, & 9 positions, sling studs on the rear of the stock, and the heavy-duty B&T Atlas bipod has tilt and pan adjustability.

THE ACTION – BOLT – BARREL

The TAC 501 features a natural stainless or black Cerakote finish barreled action (right-hand only). The bolt is proprietary nickel plated with a large teardrop bolt knob, with an integrated thumb hook and shelf for greater accuracy.

The 27.5-inch heavy barrel is manufactured from 416 Stainless Steel with a 1:15 cut rifling twist, and it’s fitted with a rear rake side-baffle muzzle brake to help manage recoil.

THE VERDICT

Big bore rifles are known for long-range precision and hunting, and Dillon guarantees the TAC 501 rifle is capable of shooting sub-MOA accuracy with a trained marksman and match-grade ammunition. The question now is, are you capable? It ships with a J Dewey cleaning rod, jag, nylon brush, user manual, and one magazine.
