Today, with a combined 300,000 sq. feet of manufacturing space, Daniel Defense has maintained a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

THE DANIEL DEFENSE PCC

Daniel Defense is getting into the 9mm market. At the 2024 SHOT Show, they debuted their first pistol, the H9, and now the company’s first Pistol-Caliber Carbine. The PCC was designed around the reliable CZ Scorpion EVO magazine. It’s designed with a direct blowback operating system. It features an 8.5-inch barrel for an SBR version or a 16-inch barrel for the carbine version. Daniel Defense expects to release the PCC in the third quarter of 2024.

THE PISTOL-CALIBER CARBINE CONCEPT

The Pistol-Caliber Carbine market started out with several manufacturers offering 9mm AR-15-type weapons, many using modified UZI magazines. In the last few years, the market has exploded with models coming from both small and large firearms manufacturers. A PCC has several advantages especially when you own a pistol and PCC in the same caliber. An even better advantage is having a PCC that uses the same magazines as your pistol. Several manufacturers use Glock 9mm magazines, as well as CZ Scorpion magazines. If you require more power, Ruger has a PCC that uses the same magazines from their 5.7×28 pistol.

Other advantages are better accuracy, as the buttstock and grip offer a more stable platform. Another plus is extended range and higher velocity as the longer barrel will add feet per second to that pistol round, and a folding stock PCC can be quite compact.

THE RECEIVER & FURNITURE

The PCC features a forged anodized receiver with an ambidextrous Rip-N-Grip charging handle, safe/fire selector, bolt catch, and a proprietary push-button magazine release. The PCC handguard is a Daniel Defense MFR M-LOK model with an adjustable buttstock.

THE BOLT & BARREL

The shortened bolt is custom-designed for the PCC using a direct blowback operating system. It features a Kynshot hydraulic buffer, which reduces recoil and muzzle rise while also reducing wear on the mechanical components. The barrel is cold hammer-forged and built to the usual Daniel Defense quality standards. Initial versions are an 8.5-inch SBR model and a standard 16-inch model threaded ½ x 28 with a flash hider installed.
