Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi’s Congressional henchman, is asking U.S. taxpayers to give his state $1.5 billion to spend controlling guns, after his failed, anti-gun policies have led to increased violent crime in New York.

According to the New York Post, Schumer is seeking to create an “Interstate Task Force on Illegal Guns” with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), which we all know will end up as a civilian disarmament scheme.

In something that was supposed to be clever (I guess?), Schumer said during a press conference, “The ABCs of beating back the scourge of gun violence depends on three federal letters: A, T, and F.”

Without the billions from the federal government, Schumer claimed:

“…[T]hese plans will not have their full impact, and we need full impact to address the flow of these crime guns in our communities and across our state.”

According to the Post:

The task force with representation from more than 50 groups across New York and neighboring states was announced last Sunday, a day after two NYPD officers were shot with a stolen firearm and later died. The goal, politicians have said, is to take on gun trafficking and traffickers by jamming the pipeline, and the group will focus resources on data-sharing, crime gun tracing and intel gathering.

“Gun tracing” and “intel gathering”… hmm, does anyone else smell a database?

Perhaps instead of spending everyone else’s money to try to fix the problems his anti-Second Amendment state has caused, Schumer should focus his energies on free policies that actually make people safer, such as getting rid of costly, anti-gun mandates that make it difficult, if not impossible, for people to defend themselves.

Constitutional Carry gets rid of red tape, bureaucracy, time, energy, and administrative costs. Oh – and it makes Americans safer.
