There have long been rumors of a Glock AR pattern rifle, and now thanks to Dr. Jürgen Hatzenbichler of the excellent Austrian firearms website www.spartanat.com, there are photos!

For many months, Glock has been slowly designing parts and filing patents for AR sub-assemblies such as their recent patent for an AR gas block. Until now, there were no photos of the rifle. It appears that Glock will designate their AR rifle the GR-115-F.

Glock dominates the pistol market, so why not the rifle market as well? The AR pattern market is filled with rifles. Some are good, some are bad, and some are tier-one-operator-excellent! Glock certainly has the engineering and production capacity to build a rifle, and while they’re at it, they should also consider a Pistol Caliber Carbine for Law Enforcement for use with their pistol magazines.

I am astounded that Glock hasn’t produced rifles long before now. A Glock rifle will be a fierce competitor against the likes of the Heckler & Koch 416, Steyr AUG, and the SIG M400.

Some of the patents gathered by Spartan AT point to Glock introducing a true military Sturmgewehr (Assault Rifle.)

Hopefully, Glock will stop the secrecy and get their new rifle on the market ASAP.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Glock GR-115F

That’s all for now folks! Please keep sending in your questions, tips, and article ideas. And as always – “Let’s Be Careful Out There.”
