Something big is taking place in the gun control world.

One of their top activists just made a sudden and unexpected move.

He is trying to seize power in a way no one saw coming.

One of the loudest gun control advocates in America in the past few years has been David Hogg, who has a big presence on Twitter where he is very vocal.

Now he is trying to grow his profile and seize political power by running to be the vice chair of the Democratic National Committee.

This would give him tremendous sway over the direction that the party takes and likely push them in an even more extreme gun control direction.

Of course, since Democrats don’t hold federal power in the wake of the November elections, this may not have an immediate impact at the national level, but eventually it will.

Power tends to swing back and forth between the two parties, and if the Democrats are an even more radical gun control party, that will affect policy in a real way.

There may be little conservatives can do in this case except hope that Hogg does not win.

According to The Hill, “Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) endorsed Democratic National Committee vice chair candidate David Hogg on Wednesday, referring to him as a generational changemaker.”

“Frost and Hogg have long been involved in the gun violence prevention movement. Hogg, who is a survivor of the 2018 school shooting in Parkland, Fla., co-founded March for Our Lives following the mass shooting. Prior to serving in Congress, Frost was the group’s national organizing director.”

Hogg is only 24 years old which would be incredibly young for someone to hold such a powerful position and raises questions about maturity that he would need to answer.

Very few 24-year-olds would have the maturity level to handle a position like this, and someone who has been a social media celebrity for years may have even more problems with maturity.

The article continues, “Frost, 27, and Hogg, 24, are also some of the most prominent Gen Z voices within the party. Frost is the youngest member of Congress.

“In an interview with The Hill last month, Hogg cited Democrats losing ground with young voters as a motivating factor in his decision to run for vice chair.”

Even on the Democratic National Committee, members have to be concerned about the possibility of someone like Hogg taking control of the reins of their party.

He is inexperienced with virtually everything except saying controversial things on social media, which he has been able to parlay into a good deal of notoriety for himself.

But being the vice chair of a large national organization requires serious leadership abilities that do not connect to being a social media celebrity in any conceivable way.

Hogg is going to have to show his fellow Democrats that he is more than just a social media shock jock, otherwise his candidacy for vice chair is probably not going to get very far.
