Joe Biden is launching a sneak attack on the Second Amendment.

He is attempting to make gun control permanent.

And his efforts could do lasting damage to gun freedom in America.

Democrats know that there’s a real possibility Republicans could end up winning this November, which would put their agenda at risk of being repealed.

That’s why Joe Biden and others know that they need to find a way to make their agenda permanent, so that an incoming Republican administration can’t do anything to change it.

This includes gun control, which has been a primary focus of the Biden administration and their allies in Congress.

Although Donald Trump has been wildly inconsistent on the gun issue, there will be a lot of pressure on him from gun owners within his own party to protect the Second Amendment if he is elected.

Democrats know that, and they fear that this pressure could lead Trump to repeal some of their most draconian gun laws that they have put in place, mostly through the ATF.

That’s why Biden is pulling some sneaky moves to make sure that his agenda can’t be repealed by anyone.

According to Bearing Arms, “As we inch closer to the 2024 election, the Biden/Harris administration’s actions suggest a concerted effort to cement their policy changes against any potential reversal under a future Republican presidency. Recent reporting indicates a move to ‘Trump-proof’ the Department of Justice, ensuring that the current administration’s legal strategies and interpretations are maintained even if the political tides turn. But what if this effort extends beyond the DOJ? How might the Biden administration attempt to ‘Trump-proof’ executive gun regulations through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF)? And what would this mean for law-abiding gun owners across America?”

Essentially what the Biden administration wants to do is force Trump, or another Republican administration, to go through an onerous process to repeal any of the rules they have put in place.

This process would make it virtually impossible to take any of these rules off the books.

The article continues, “By ignoring the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) when creating new regulations, the Biden administration can make it much harder for future administrations to repeal these rules without going through the same rigorous process. This would involve extensive public comment periods, comprehensive responses to feedback, and a detailed justification of the rules based on statutory authority and public safety.”

It remains to be seen, if Trump is elected or if another Republican takes office in the future, what strategies they will have to respond to this, or if they’ll even have any interest in protecting gun freedoms.

After all, protecting the Second Amendment will not make Trump popular with the media.

He may decide that it’s not worth all the hassle to go through a rigorous process to protect gun owners, all while being attacked by the media.

Or he may decide that he is willing to endure the attacks for the sake of the Second Amendment. Only time will tell.
