ABOUT BARRETT

The Barrett story is just plain cool! Ronnie Barrett first hit the scene in 1982 with his M82 .50 caliber sniper rifle. Working out of a garage in Christiana, Tennessee, Barrett designed every part of the M82 by himself!  It’s not too bad for a photographer with no engineering experience!  That’s right, Barrett was a photographer who got the idea for a .50 caliber rifle during a photo shoot. Barrett then started putting his idea to paper. Initially, several machine shops turned down his design until he found the right man to fabricate the prototype for him. Barrett then took his rifle to a gun show in Texas, where he got deposits on three rifles. Barrett then produced an initial run of 30 rifles. The result was the Barrett M82 going from drawing board to production in 4 months! Are there any fledgling firearms designers out there? Take note: You might be the next Ronnie Barrett!

ABOUT THE MRADELR

The MRADELR (Multi-Role Adaptive Design Extreme Long Range) is now chambered in .416 Barrett. The production rifle recently placed 2nd in the King of 2 Miles competition against primarily custom rifles.

“The MRADELR is a high quality; military tested, off-the-shelf, extreme long-range system with user changeable barrels and calibers. Designed to deliver precision typically achieved only by custom-built rifles, this rifle expands the bolt-action, magazine-fed MRAD family to include .416 Barrett with additional large-caliber options to be available in the future. Boasting innovative technology, precision engineering, and exceptional materials, the MRADELR is yet another example of Barrett Firearms’ dedication to excellence.”

“This rifle is a testament to our unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in long-range shooting. . . We look forward to sharing this innovation with the world at the 2024 SHOT Show and bringing the same capability to the hands of marksmen who demand nothing but the best.” ~ Bryan James, President of Barrett Firearms.

THE RECEIVER & FURNITURE

The buttstock is fixed with a locking cheekpiece and a push-button height and length of pull adjustments. The 60-degree bolt throw offers a reduced chance of interference between the bolt handle and scope and faster cycling for follow-up shots.

The single-stage trigger can be removed without the use of tools.

The upper receiver is M-LOK compatible with a continuous 10-millimeter rail that is 24.6 inches long.

The MRADELR is available in Flat Dark Earth, Tungsten Grey, or Black Cerakote finish.

THE BOLT & BARREL

The bolt head is plated in electroless nickel for durability, maintenance, and corrosion resistance.

The .416 barrel is a match-grade, single-point cut, hand-lapped stainless barrel equipped with a 3-point muzzle brake and 1:9 twist.

The barrel is also user-changeable, using only a single tool to switch calibers.
