The forces of gun control are nefarious, but politically stupid they are not. For multiple decades, they have understood who their friends are and who are their enemies. With this information in mind, these anti-gun lobbies have punished their enemies and rewarded their allies accordingly.
Current President Joe Biden has a long track record of supporting gun control, which has earned major brownie points with Gun Control Inc. In fact, his devotion to civilian disarmament has earned him the endorsement of the leading civilian disarmament organizations in the nation.
According to an Associated Press report, Biden obtained endorsements from the Michael Bloomberg-funded Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, Moms Demand Action, and Students Demand Action. On top of that, Biden received an endorsement from former Arizona Congresswoman Gabby Giffords’ gun control organization, Giffords.
Moms Demand Action executive director Angela Ferrell-Zabala declared, “President Biden and Vice President Harris are leading the strongest gun-sense administration in American history, a title they have earned by doing everything in their power to protect our families and communities.”
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has also endorsed Biden’s re-election.
Biden picked up this endorsement from these leading gun control groups for his signing of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act. This gun control legislation was heavily pushed by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) and ended up receiving Biden’s signature on June 25, 2022.
This legislation broadened background checks for gun purchases in the age range of 18 to 20, allocated funds towards the incentivization of red flag law adoption at the state level, and expanded the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) banned individuals list.
The Bloomberg and Giffords’ civilian disarmament groups did not indicate whether they will endorse Cornyn during his 2026 re-election campaign.
But if history shows anything it’s Gun Control Inc. couldn’t care less about Republicans supporting its anti-gun agenda. For gun controllers, Republican sell-outs are mere chess pawns that will ultimately be discarded once they’ve outlived their usefulness.
In effect, these sell-out Republicans are doing the gun controllers’ work without getting anything back in return. Those are the many costs associated with being a backstabber in politics. At the end of the day, no one likes a traitor.
As for Biden’s endorsements from the gun control crowd, this is to be expected. His anti-gun track record speaks for itself as he’s been a fervent opponent of the right to bear arms during his multiple decades in Congress.
Gun control proponents will always endorse elected officials who faithfully carry out their agenda while in office.
