Joe Biden, Democratic presidential hopeful, recently lent his expertise to defensive gun use.

Biden said:

“[There is] the idea that instead of standing there and teaching a cop when there’s an unarmed person, coming at him with a knife or something, to shoot him in the leg instead of in the heart. There’s a lot of different things [policies] that can change.”

The former vice president made these comments after meeting with African-American community leaders at the Bethel AME Church in Wilmington, Delaware. He discussed the widespread protests spurred by the killing of George Floyd at the hands of law enforcement in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Protests have flared up across the nation in cities such as New York, Chicago, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles. Although some of the protests have remained peaceful, a good portion of the protests have devolved into riots and lootings, largely due to non-existent law enforcement policies in many urban centers.

Several of Biden’s staff have donated to organizations attempting to liberate jailed rioters on bail. Campaign spokesperson Andrew Bates told Reuters that Biden is against cash bail because he believes it is the equivalent of a “modern day debtors prison.”

President Trump criticized the donations, declaring that they “would financially support the mayhem that is hurting innocent people and destroying what good people spent their lives building.”

GPM had reported previous that in a viral video clip that’s been viewed 2.3 million times so far, a man in a cowboy hat chases looters from a cigar store in Bellevue, Washington by aiming something at them and yelling at them repeatedly to “move!” The looters exit the store hastily with their hands above their heads.

The Gateway Pundit reports the man was holding pepper spray, though the Washington Examiner reports the man was holding "what appears to be a handgun." The person filiming the video can be heard saying, "They got guns drawn," and "That’s someone’s business, yo."

The Examiner reports:

News reports and videos posted to social media throughout Sunday showed widespread looting, vandalism, and arson in major cities across the country while peaceful demonstrations protesting the police killing of George Floyd also took place.
